About Us

36 Commuting Solutions is one of six transportation management associations (TMA) operating in the Denver metropolitan area. In total, more than 135 TMAs cooperate across the United States, sharing emerging information about transportation issues and relevant news to help us succeed.

Created in 1998 to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and offer commuting options along the U.S. 36 corridor, we operate today as a not-for-profit, public-private membership organization. Our coalition includes nearly fifty businesses and seven municipal governments between Westminster and Longmont.

History

In 2002 the organization formed a partnership with the U.S. 36 Mayors and Commissioners Coalition (MCC) to strengthen our advocacy efforts and ensure  funding at the federal, state, and local levels. We also continue to work closely with RTD to expand transit service and represent private sector interests for multi-modal access along the corridor.  Click here to view the most recent preferred multi-modal transportation plan for U.S. 36.

After several years of success advocating for transportation improvements to U.S. 36, including the passage of the RTD FasTracks initiative, the Executive Committee and staff conducted a strategic planning study in late 2006 to define the organization's future direction. In January 2007 the organization unveiled a new name, mission statement, and logo.

Mission

The mission of 36 Commuting Solutions is to enhance the mobility of commuters along the U.S. 36 corridor today and for the future. Collectively, our membership coalition represents thousands of employers, businesses, employees, residents, municipal governments, and those passing through the U.S. 36 corridor between Boulder and Denver, Colorado.

Services

36 Commuting Solutions has formed a coalition of private companies, municipal governments and individuals to speak with one voice for transportation improvements and funding to U.S. 36 that will contribute to economic stability and enhance quality-of-life along the U.S. 36 corridor. We provide free commuter outreach information to encourage multi-modal travel options, and a Workplace Ambassador Network to dues-paying employers and their employees to encourage commuting options. Our Steering Committee is made up of decision-makers from the public and private sectors who meet monthly to discuss key topics affecting travel along the U.S. 36 Corridor.  Additionally, 36 Commuting Solutions offers commuter outreach materials, assistance, and resources.

Staff and Executive Committee

Our organization consists of two staff members, a board of directors and member organizations. The board of directors consists of representatives from the public and private sectors, including elected officials and business leaders. Our members include companies, developers and governmental entities in the area. All of these individuals and organizations are committed to better advocating for U.S. 36 transportation improvements and expanding the use of commute options.
